Ritualistic names are also spelt out in some regions. There is a method of selecting a vast array of names and writing the same on paper and placing them under burning lamps. The lamp that burns for the longest period of time is the name that is selected. That is only one of the methods for naming your newborn. There is a varied array of such methodologies in the field of naming a new child. People have taken to various methods for naming their children. Here’s a list of such methods-

    • In a vast portion of southern Asia their paternal aunts name children. In families where a child does not have the blessing of a paternal aunt over his or her grandmother from the side of the child’s mother does the honors.
    • In the Christian concept of the idea the church head of the concerned family does the naming. Though things have gotten far more providing in recent years and people choose a name and intimate the same to the concerned church head and he spells out the name on the baptizing ceremony. But in staunch Christian families the tradition is still the norm.
    • In a better part of the Pagan world the child is named after a local deity or presiding godhead. Of course not something vastly adverse or weird! Ex- a girl child born in a village where the presiding deity is called Goddess Anandavalli, the child is named so too if there isn’t another child by the same name already.
    • There is the tradition of holding a special naming ceremony in almost religious traits of the world. In the Hindu theory of things it is held on the sixth day of the child’s birth. The Christians baptize their kids on the fortnight of their birth and in the Muscleman belief the child is named on the first Friday after the birth.
